UCL: 5 great nights at the Stadium

Against Atletico Madrid a great performance will be needed to turn the result around from Wanda Metropolitano. In line with others, over the years, Juventus have experienced growth.

20 November 2012: Juventus-Chelsea 3-0

The fifth match of the round. Juventus faced the European champions at home. Antonio Conte's squad faced a team led by Roberto di Matteo in a match that was filled with emotions. From the very first battles, a spectacular affair was promissed, after a ball from Lichtsteiner and a save by Buffon on Hazard. Before half-time, the first goal arrived: Quagliarella deflected a shot from Pirlo that beat Cech in goal. After the break, the Bianconeri have comlete control over the Blues. Vidal, who finished off a cross from Asamoah, made it 2-0. In the final moments, there was also time for Giovinco to complete the scoreline with a third goal from outside the box.

5 May 2015: Juventus-Real Madrid 2-1

It was an all-Italian affair on the bench: Massimiliano Allegri on one side and Carlo Ancelotti on the other. Also on this occasion, Juventus faced a team that had just won the Champions League, their 10th title. Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo were all set to face each other at Allianz Stadium, and they were protagnoists in the first half: with the Bianconero putting the home team in front by finishing off a move of 27 passes. Ronaldo then responded with a header from an assist by James Rodriguez, and just before heading into the break, Sturaro made a crucial deflection to avoid a second goal by the Colombian that was almost certain to go in. After the break, Tevez was awarded a penalty following a hand ball by Carvajal, and he converted it. With the 2-1 victory, and a 1-1 result at Bernabeu, Juventus headed to the final in Berlin.

25 November 2015: Juventus-Manchester City 1-0

After the first leg in Manchester, Mario Mandzukic carved out a leading role by scoring one of the two goals in the Bianconeri's success. In the return leg, the Croatian repeated the feat with a volley in the 18th minute: the cross from* Alex Sandro,* the head to head with Otamendi was won by the star striker. The game didn't end there though... The English side went close to qualising after a header by Fernandinho, which resulted in Buffon deflecting it away with his hands. Sturaro then hit the woodwork. The last opportunity fell to Juan Cuadrado, who was the author of a great move.

11 April 2017: Juventus-Barcelona 3-0

It was a masterpiece of a match with the perfect script. In less than an hour, Juventus beat Barcelona who had Messi, Neymar, Suarez and others on the field. The approach was extraodinary: Paulo Dybala's one-two was overwhelming, and the game was already in the hands of the Bianconeri. Buffon made an excellent save on Iniesta, and for the rest of the game, Allegri's defence remained absolutely impeccable. The 3-0 arrived from a corner: Pjanic shot, Chiellini won the duel with Mascherano and his header left Ter Stegen unable to do anything. The return leg ended goalless, with Juventus progressing into the next around.

27 November 2018: Juventus-Valencia 1-0

This encounter was the group stage of the Champions League. Valencia travelled to Torino after suffering a first leg defeat, and progression into the next round is still up in the air. The first half ended goalless, with Szczesny pulling off a noteworthy save off a deflection from Diakhaby. After the break,* Cristiano Ronaldo* produced a beautiful pass and gifted Mario Mandzukic a comfortable ball that he directed into the back of an empty net. The rest of the game saw former Bianconero, Norbeto Neto, pull off some beautiful saves that kept the scoreline at bay.
