Players don’t normally go back to somewhere they’ve been successful for a third spell. Martin Caceres is the exception, however, and it was a surprise and a pleasure to welcome him back to the club. Upon his arrival, describing the role he would play for the side, Massimiliano Allegri said: “Martin is familiar with the club; he’s reliable and will further bolster an area where we’re already strong.”

The pleasure of returning home, when that home is the stadium where you won the first of Juventus’ eight consecutive Scudetto trophies.

With the ball at his feet, Caceres starts the build-up, because in this story it is the defenders who begin the attack.
