In a penalty-laden and heated affair, Frank Nazar scored two third-period power play goals to lift the U.S. to a 5-2 win over Czechia on Tuesday. The Americans finish second and the defending champion Czechs third in Group B at the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
Particularly dominant in the first and third periods, the U.S. out-shot the Czechs by a whopping 56-27 margin on the night. Czech goalie Karel Vejmelka was strong to give his team a chance. The result leaves Switzerland in first place in Group B with 19 points ahead of Thursday's quarter-finals.
