Bernardeschi: “A professional and gutsy display against Lazio”

Federico Bernardeschi, who had a hand in both goals during the comeback victory against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, has summed up the secret to Juventus’ relentless pursuit of victory.

“Character and personality,” the winger stated. “We’re always in the game, even when we’re in trouble. Once again we’ve shown that we never give up and we always have a chance right up until the final whistle.”

“We’re always ready, which is something that comes from our mentality. Even when someone doesn’t start, everybody knows they might have the opportunity to change the game at any moment, so we all stay focused.”

FEDERICO’S IMPROVED RESILIENCE

Bernardeschi was asked in which aspect of his game he’s made most improvement. “I’ve worked a lot on my mentality, concentration and taking training seriously. Then again, working alongside such great players in such a strong squad does help a lot.”

NO INTENTION OF STOPPING

“We want to increase our lead as much as possible,” Bernardeschi continued, “keeping up this run of form and widening the gap with those behind us. Now is the key moment to keep our concentration high and pick up as many points as possible.”

The right attitude starts with the Coppa Italia tie on Wednesday.

“We’re playing against an excellent side in Atalanta,” Federico concluded. “I expect it to be a difficult game, but we care a lot about the Coppa Italia and we’re heading to Atalanta to book our spot in the semi-final.”
